We recently stayed at Home2 Suites by Hilton New York Times Square during a trip that included a Yankees game and plenty of time exploring Midtown Manhattan.
Located at 150 West 48th Street, the hotel is within walking distance of Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Broadway theaters and several subway stations. In other words, it’s a great location if your vacation plan involves seeing everything and convincing your feet that they can survive just one more block.
And call me weird, but one of my top favorite things to do while in NYC is to visit a psychic. There is one right across the street next to the convenient store! Go visit her if this is your “thing”.
Our Room
Our room was extremely clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet considering how close we were to Times Square. Although Home2 Suites properties are normally known for kitchenettes, our room did not have one, so check the room details carefully if that feature is important to you.
The room wasn’t huge, but this is New York City. Spaciousness is measured differently here. If you can walk around the bed without turning sideways, you’re practically living in luxury.
About Those Elevators
The biggest downside was the elevator wait. The hotel has a large number of rooms, and the elevators can become slow during busy periods.
If you need to be somewhere at a specific time, leave your room a little earlier. This is not the moment to test whether you can get from the 30th floor to Broadway in four minutes.
Breakfast and Amenities
The hotel offers complimentary breakfast, although we didn’t try it during our stay. There are so many restaurants, cafés and grab-and-go options nearby that finding food was never a problem.
The property also has a rooftop bar, which is a nice option when you want a drink and a city view without traveling far from your room.
Would We Stay Again?
Yes. We loved the convenient location, the room was exceptionally clean and the hotel gave us an easy home base for exploring New York City.
The elevators require a little patience, but overall, Home2 Suites New York Times Square is a solid choice for travelers who want a clean, comfortable hotel close to the action without actually sleeping in the middle of Times Square.
